Every year, third through sixth grade in the Gifted Program are eligible to sign up for an educational trip, and this year, the students enjoyed a three-day adventure at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab.
This trip was organized by Sally Campbell, county gifted teacher.
Laura Brown, Cedar Bluff’s media specialist, attended the trip alongside her son, Jonas Brown.
According to Brown, “The students participated in many activities including a ride on a fishing boat, a squid dissection, a nature walk on the beach, a walk in the salt marsh, and a visit to the estuarium.”
The trip is not only educational but it also allows the students to unwind while learning new and interesting subjects. Furthermore, it allows students to be in an interactive environment.
“The trip allowed students to have hands-on experience with marine science. This brings classroom objectives to life for the students,” said Brown.
All in all, the gifted trip is an educational experience that allows students to apply their learned knowledge to real-life.
