Cedar Bluff’s Beta Club enters a new year of promoting community service through fundraisers, campus clean-ups, and so much more.
Cathy Wilson, a Beta Club sponsor, said, “ I am really excited about the upcoming year with our Beta Club.”
The National Beta Club mission statement, “To promote the ideas of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students,” is well represented by Cedar Bluff’s Beta Club members’ desire to thrive in a competitive environment.
As stated by Jessica Walker, another Beta Club sponsor, “Beta is a fun, energetic, and positive environment where students are able to succeed inside and outside of school.”
This past year, the Beta Club sponsored events, such as the Relay for Life, School Beautification, and the Canned Food Drive, as well as sold bracelets in support of Eli Hartline while he was recovering in the hospital.
“This is an outstanding group of students full of amazing leadership skills, exciting personalities, creative ideas, and hearts of gold.” said Wilson.
Beta inductions are to be held in late September, allowing new members to begin expressing themselves through the Beta motto “Let us lead by serving others.”
Beta Club always celebrates with an annual winter all-night Lock-In and a spring banquet for members and their families.
“We look forward to another great year in Beta,” stated Wilson.
