Beta Hosts The 2nd Annual Fifth Quarter

The Beta Club, continuing its purpose of community and school partnership hosted the 2nd annual 5th Quarter after the Tigers triumphant win over the Sand Rock Wildcats recently.

According to Cathy Wilson, the proceeds of the event was for a very worthy cause. “We wanted to help families in our school that are battling major illnesses, and we are so thankful for the great turnout to do so,” said Wilson.

The activities in the gym promoted endless amounts of fun and fellowship as kids interacted in games, such as volleyball, basketball, cornhole, and dancing. For almost two hours, the music never stopped, nor the music.

For a change of pace, the 5th Quarter also provided board games and card games, as well as many other activities to carry the fun to almost midnight.

Mrs. Cathy, Beta Club sponsor, believes that events such as these have a positive influence on our student body.

“The 5th Quarter provides an opportunity for our students to have a safe place to hang out together while having some good ole fashion fun,” said Wilson.

Not only does it allow students to let loose and have fun, but it also allows the cheerleaders and football players to have fun with the student body after a game.

Dixie Jones, freshman cheerleader, enjoyed being able to go to an event and being involved with the student body.

“It was actually nice getting to hang out with my friends and other students instead of going home after a night of cheering. With the 5th Quarter, I get to have a little extra fun added to my night.”

The Beta Club looks forward to offering more fun events for the student body at Cedar Bluff.
